Week 6 - BSIT - 400-T320 Cloud Computing & Governance - Azure DNS
Azure DNS is a cloud-based service that enables organizations to manage
DNS records for their domains using Microsoft’s Azure platform. It offers high
availability, scalability, and global performance by leveraging Microsoft's
global network of datacenters. With features like seamless integration with
other Azure services, support for IPv4 and IPv6, and traffic routing through
Azure Traffic Manager, Azure DNS ensures efficient domain management and
low-latency DNS resolution. Although it doesn’t support domain registration,
you can easily manage DNS zones and records for domains registered elsewhere. The
service provides robust security through role-based access control (RBAC) and
auditing capabilities, ensuring that only authorized personnel can manage DNS
settings. Azure DNS also supports alias records, allowing DNS records to point
directly to Azure resources, making it ideal for dynamic cloud environments.
Its pay-as-you-go pricing model and automatic scaling make it a cost-effective
solution for businesses seeking reliable DNS management without maintaining
their own infrastructure.
