Week 12 – BSIT220-T301 Network Mgmt & Infrastructure

For the last few quarters of this school year, I have had to do a blog, and I would have to say I do not mind doing blog posts. I like them because I can do my own research on a topic of my choice and put on the blog what I want my readers to know and learn. I would have to say that this was helpful with my current job as a support technician, in the sense that I read some blogs daily to help me perform my job better and more effectively and more efficiently. Lastly, I would say that I would like to keep a blog/journal going forward, with the ever so much change with technology I would be cool to look back on a blog 10 or even 20 years later.

In the fast-paced digital era we find ourselves in, cell phones have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. From making calls and sending texts to browsing the internet and streaming videos, these pocket-sized wonders seamlessly connect us to the world. Behind the scenes, the magic happens through a complex process known as data transmission. In this blog post, let's delve into the intricate world of how your cell phone transmits data, making the seemingly effortless communication possible. Cell phones primarily rely on wireless communication to transmit data. They use a network of interconnected cell towers, forming a vast web that spans the globe. This network is commonly referred to as the cellular network, and it comprises multiple technologies such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and now the blazing fast 5G. At the heart of data transmission in cell phones are radio waves. These electromagnetic waves, with frequencies ranging from a few hundred kil...
