Week 9 Post - Portable Applications and What Are They?

The simplest way to phrase what a portable application is, software program that does not need to be installed on a computer. These portable applications do not make any changes to Windows Registry or changes to the configuration of the computer. They can either be single, standalone executable program or as a program bundled with a bunch of configuration files in a single folder. There are quite a few advantages to using portable applications, with the main one being portability, takes up less space and they are very secure as well. No need to install and configure programs countless times, you can just copy your portable apps to a non-windows partition, so they are not affected.
